People want to know how to make cyberbullies stop.
Survey research by Hinduja & Patchin tells me that some pretty simple strategies have helped many people. Their research findings are consistent with what I have learned from students, parents, and educators about ways that they have made the cyberbullying stop.
Below are some strategies to try if your kids find themselves being cyberbullied.
• Ignore
• Tell parent
• Log off
• Report to website
• Tell a trusted adult at school
• Call police
Of course, the best way to stop cyberbullying is to prevent it. Posting positive and limiting screen time are great ways to make yourself a hard target.
